850 N Palm Canyon
is available for lease.
This is how we fill it.

Still Light at 850 is an activation program designed to keep this space alive, generate documented demand, and introduce it to prospective tenants โ€” while we work the market for a long-term lease.

The concept below is for your review. Once approved, press materials go out and programming begins. The space stays activated. Prospective tenants walk through a working room, not an empty one.

We also work with building owners across the corridor. If you own or manage commercial space on N Palm Canyon and want to talk about leasing, activation, or what your space could be doing โ€” reach out directly.

The Building · Its History

Arthur Elrod
1924 – 1974

Arthur Elrod arrived in Palm Springs in 1947 and spent the next two decades defining what the desert interior could be. His firm, Arthur Elrod & Associates — established on Palm Canyon Drive in 1954 — shaped the interiors of the most celebrated mid-century homes in the Coachella Valley, working alongside architects including John Lautner, William Cody, and Donald Wexler.

His client list read like the guest list of the era: Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, Walt and Lillian Disney, Hoagy Carmichael, Bob Hope. He was described as the “design king of the desert” — the person who understood, better than almost anyone, how light and space behaved in the Sonoran heat.

850 N Palm Canyon Drive was home to his studio. Open + Range is activating the building in 2026 — the first public programming of the space in decades. Still Light at 850, the lie-down meditation and sound series, runs through the summer and fall. Launch date confirmed upon building owner approval.

“Give me what you think I should have on this lot.”— Arthur Elrod, to John Lautner, 1968
