From February 11–21, 2027, Clozing CRE returns to 850 N Palm Canyon Drive — the former studio of legendary designer Arthur Elrod — with Explore & Refresh, a free Hydration Station open Thursday through Sunday, 12–3 PM, across both Modernism Week weekends. Bring your own bottle, fill up with complimentary spa water, and explore the grounds at your own pace.
This is the second Clozing CRE activation at 850. In June 2026, we opened the doors for a Champagne Open House in partnership with the Palm Springs Cultural Center — the photography throughout this page is from that day, showing the space inside and out.

Arthur Elrod arrived in Palm Springs in 1947 and spent the next two decades defining desert modernism, shaping interiors alongside architects including John Lautner, William Cody, Donald Wexler, and Hugh Kaptur. This studio, designed by Elrod himself in 1968, remains one of the last spaces directly connected to his practice — and the original riveted entry door he specified is still on it.
850 N Palm Canyon remains available for lease. Stop by during the Hydration Station, walk the 4,180 square foot showroom and offices, and picture it as a flagship retail destination, a design studio, a gallery, or a wellness concept.

In June 2026, Clozing CRE opened 850 N Palm Canyon for the first time — a Champagne Open House presented with the Palm Springs Cultural Center. The photos on this page are from that day.

Arthur Elrod arrived in Palm Springs in 1947 and spent the next two decades defining what the desert interior could be. His firm shaped the interiors of the most celebrated mid-century homes in the Coachella Valley, working alongside architects including John Lautner, William Cody, Donald Wexler, and Hugh Kaptur.
850 N Palm Canyon Drive was his studio from 1968 — Elrod designed the building himself, and the original riveted entry door remains. The proportions of the showroom still reflect the design language his firm brought to the corridor and to the world. This is one of the last remaining spaces directly connected to his practice. It is ready for its next chapter.
